Garfield 2 to Be Made with Chris Pratt Voicing the Lead Role
According to Cinemadrame News Agency, Chris Pratt will return to voice the lead role in the second installment of “Garfield.” The first animated film was released in 2024 and grossed $230 million worldwide. The studio’s search for a writer and director is ongoing.
“Garfield 2,” with Chris Pratt as the voice actor, will tell a story about a lazy, cynical orange cat and his relationship with his owner, Jon Arbuckle. Samuel L. Jackson will voice the new character of Vic, Garfield’s father. Nicholas Hoult, Hannah Waddingham, Cecily Strong, Ving Rhames, Brett Goldstein, and Bowen Yang were among the other voice actors in the film.
The character of Garfield was created by cartoonist Jim Davis in 1973 and initially appeared in 41 newspapers, eventually expanding to 2,580 newspapers. Four films have been made from the “Garfield” comic strip to date, the most notable being “Garfield: The Movie” by 20th Century Fox in 2004 and its sequel “Garfield: A Tail of Two Kitties” in 2006, both featuring Bill Murray as the voice of Garfield.
